8 day Yoga/ Aerial Yoga/ Meditation/ Surf and wellness retreat in Costa Rica

Let go of the stresses of day to day life with a week in paradise detoxing and reconnecting with yourself. While you are with us, we will take care of your metal and physical self, providing delicious, healthy food, stimulating and energising activities all while surrounded by the beautiful nature of Costa Rica. You will leave feeling healthy and recharged. The small size of the group allows us to give you personalised attention. At the same time, you will have freedom to do as many activities as you feel like doing. Private sessions are included, so take advantage of this unique opportunity to get a taste of aerial yoga and surfing. Truly relax with an hour long full body massage. Let go of all worries in ecstatic dance. You can even learn some useful Spanish words and sentences along the way.

What is included in the retreat:

Location

Uvita, Costa Rica

Uvita de Osa is a small town in southern Costa Rica, on a section of coastline known as the Costa Ballena of the Pacific Ocean. The Whale's Tail has been described as one of the world's most beautiful beaches. Uvita is a good place to see humpback whales in the wild, as there are groups which come from Northern California and Alaska during one time of the year and groups that come from the south and Antarctica during another time of the year. Many of the locals speak English as well as Spanish.

Described by many as one of the most biologically diverse areas in the world, southwestern Costa Rica has plenty of beautiful beaches and fantastic vistas. Of the many spectacular beaches found here, Playa Uvita is among the most stunning beaches on Costa Rica’s southern Pacific coast. It is a surfing hotspot. 

You will find many restaurant options to have dinner out everyday. There is a local market once a week where you can find very healthy options, all locally produced. There are supermarkets where you can buy whatever you need too.

Accommodation

You will be staying at a beautiful Boutique Retreat.  All public spaces are for you to enjoy. The lush grounds are quite large, with a 50 foot pool in the centre. There is plenty of space between the 4 accommodation options for privacy. You can help yourself to the fruits, vegetables, herbs and such that are growing in the gardens. 

There is private secure parking if you want to rent your own car. There is an open air large dining area near the yoga shala, where we will enjoy our breakfast together each morning. The yoga shala is a beautiful open studio situated within the property and looking out on to the gardens, the pool and a cow pasture. 

Each accommodation has one bedroom, a private kitchen, a bathroom and a private chill out area. All of the "Casitas" have fantastic garden views.

Included activities and excursions

  • 8 Yoga sessions and 8 meditation sessions, spread over the week 

All the classes are suited to all levels. There is no need to have previous experience to join the classes. Yoga sessions are 60 minutes duration. Meditation sessions are 30 minutes duration. 

  • 1 Private Surf lesson (1 hour) 

You will get photos and videos from your lesson. Water and fruit provided. 

  • 1 Whale and Dolphin tour (2 hours)

Expect to see dolphins and possibly whales. You will see the beautiful pacific coastline from the boat with an outstanding jungle background.

  • 1 Full Body Massage (1 hour)

Full body massage given by a professional masseuse at the comfort of our resort.

  • 1 Private Aerial Yoga Class (1 hour)

Aerial yoga is a type of yoga which uses a hammock or yoga swing to allow students to perform postures that they may not ordinarily be able to attempt on the yoga mat. It combines traditional yoga with moves inspired by pilates, dance and acrobatics. There is no need to have any previous experience, fully adapted to complete beginners.

 

  • 1 Waterfall Tour

We will take a short hike (30 mins) to visit some local, secret waterfalls where we will relax and bathe in the water. Only local people know how to get to these. 

  • 1 Group Soundbath

This session takes you on a journey of breath work and sound healing filled with sensation and surrender, beginning by centering the self through breathe work. As the mind calms and attention focuses, we transition into and surrender into the sound bath to a full array of sacred instruments. The alchemy Bowls will sing you into a space of deep self love and reflection while the Traditional Tibetan Bowls will ground and relax the body through their and deep sonic resonance. This therapy is really good for releasing past traumas and reconnecting with your higher self. 

  • 1 Spanish group lesson

During this lesson you will learn how to say useful basic words and sentences that you can put in practice while at your retreat in Costa Rica. 

  • 1 Sunset Hike 

A short hike of 1 hour hike around Uvita and into the jungle where you will experience panoramic views of the beautiful coastline. It is a moderate hike, suitable to all levels. 

  • 1 Ecstatic Dance Session

Ecstatic Dance is a free-form, non-structured dance space: In its most elemental definition it's a free-form dance movement inspired and led by carefully crafted music with the intention of creating a healing journey. No dance experience or partner is necessary or needed. On one hand it's a perfect outlet for those who think they "can't dance" because they were taught that to "know" how to dance is to move in a certain way. On the other hand it is a luscious playground for experienced dancers alike craving for a free space where they can let loose with their peers. Ecstatic Dance is an environment without observers, judgements, posturing, attitudes, conversations, shoes, alcohol, fragrances or smoke. A space where everyone can feel spontaneously safe to try new things and push their edges. This is the dance you dance when nobody is watching. Allowing your body to move freely without judgement or concerns for the "grace" or beauty of the dance, just getting lost in the dance into a space of no-mind.

Itinerary

Day 0

26th May

Arrrival to the retreat preferably between 2pm and 9pm. Warm welcome and introduction of the space.

 

Day to start getting to know each other. Time to schedule private sessions (surf, massage, aerial yoga).

 

There will be snacks, tea, coffee and water available in your private kitchen on your arrival day.

 

Dinner provided if needed, we need to discuss arrival times via email. 

Day 4
