Location

Maple Farm

Maple Farm is the headquarters of Charity Buddy, a UK registered charity that was created to support animal welfare and our environment. At the HQ there is a 30-acre rewilding project on former grazing land situated on the Surrey-Sussex boundary.

The vision for Maple Farm is a thriving diversity of habitats in keeping with the natural ecology of the area, providing a haven for plants, insects, birds, and mammals. A mix of scrub, woodland, grassland, and riparian wetland will be encouraged through natural regeneration, enrichment planting and other interventions, taking an experimental approach to encourage nature’s return.

This location therefore provides the perfect setting to enjoy a retreat; offering you the chance to relax and unwind in a lovely setting. Your guided nature walk will take you through the rewilding land, and you'll also be able to meet some of the older animals that are residents at the sanctuary, also located here.  And, you'll be directly helping to support our cause, as profits from the retreat will be donated to this charity.

This retreat is being hosted by Charity Buddy, a registered charity no 1189284. Profits from the retreat will be used to support animal welfare, and our environment.

The retreat was a proper RETREAT. A stepping away from everything and to discover some of my lost self. That swimming pool!!! The angels Colleen, Kevin and Silvia. So much nurturing, care and interest. You all made me feel welcome from the first step into your space.  Everything was clean, smelled gorgeous and the food and drinks divine !!! Only one serious problem … for me personally: I’m now hooked on yoga, Silvia’s yoga.

Elaine Perry

My friend paid for the retreat for me as a belated birthday present and whilst I was looking forward to the retreat, it’s not something I would normally do.
I arrived feeling tired, stressed from
Work, in pain and thinking about all the things I should be doing with my Saturday and left feeling relaxed, looked after, in less pain, happy, reenergised and vowing to take up yoga classes and to make sure I do something for myself on a daily basis. I would definitely do this again and would highly recommend to anyone, especially to complete beginners who may be concerned that they would feel out of place or not be able to keep up.

I wasn’t sure what to expect as I’ve only really practiced yoga on occasion and at home during lockdown. I was impressed with the location, staff were very welcoming and friendly. The experience was great with like minded people and a great sense of calm and openness from everyone.

From the minute I arrived I was welcomed and shown to where the day was to take place. It was a stunning setting with everything there to enjoy a fantastic retreat, I felt relaxed and enjoyed the yoga sessions, lunch and nature walk.

Sam Mishra

It was an amazing retreat, I’ve always enjoyed Silvia's yoga session. So it was good to be out in the nature and doing it with her and others in this fantastic country house and farm. The schedule flowed through very well , the day was well spent resting and making some new meaningful connections with like minded people. Kevin and Colleen were great hosts and it was nice to get to know about them and the work they do for animal welfare. Very inspiring!
